Maintenance Pipefitter
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipefitter to join our maintenance team in Greenville, SC. (Pay is based on upon experience). Mechanic Responsibilities:Scale and read mechanical drawings and apply to fieldMeasure, cut, thread or bend pipe to require angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines or pipe-bending machinesWork on systems that include heating hot water, chilled water, steam, condensate, compressed air, process fluids, chemical, fuel oil, and other fuel related systemsLocate and mark the position of pipe hangers and centerlines, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures suing measuring instruments such as rulers or levelsMust be able to pipe pumps, chillers, boilers and tanksAble to use portable bandsaw or cutting torch to cut pipe, bevel pipe and fittings for weldingWork with materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics, fiberglass, and copperRepair, cap, and test all types of mechanical piping systemsDetect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisorsRead blueprint and submittalsInstruct helpers under your supervisionAbility to work independently or as part of a teamOSHA10 Certification preferredHold license to operate equipment necessary for the roleHelpers Responsibilities:Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to require angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines or pipe-bending machinesLocate and mark the position of pipe hangers, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures suing measuring instruments such as rulers or levelsAssemble pipe sections, using torch for soldering and able yo use pipe wrenches for crew pipe.Must be able to use portable bandsaw to cut pipe, bevel pipe, and fittings for weldingInstall pipe assemblies, fittings, and valvesFabricate pipe supports and install hangers on VAV's, FCU's, and AHU'sWork with materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics, fiberglass, and copperRepair, cap, and test all types of mechanical pipingDetect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisorsHold license to operate equipment necessary for the roleCompany DescriptionWe consider applicants for all positions without regard for race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
