The Quality Assurance Technician will be accountable for food safety systems and quality systems.This individual will be responsible for contributing to a consistent, safe, and productive work environment through participation in corporate programs, and adhering to operational and personnel policies and procedures. With a focus on the success of the overall food safety and quality, the individual will work closely with the production, quality and maintenance teams to maintain optimal quality, safety.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:Direct the day-to-day quality and food safety activities.Adjust quantities when requested by production associates ERP System (PLEX)Verify all ingredients and materials used are recorded in ERP System (PLEX) correctly and make any necessary adjustments. Include adjustments made in end of shift QA Report.Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures such as SQF, HACCP, GMP's, SSOP, process deviation, hold and release in ERP System (PLEX) and required paper formsEffectively communicate quality control expectations to a wide range of in-house employeesConduct metal detector challenges and observationsVerify the calibration of all scales and thermometersMonitor GMP's for complianceConduct sensory evaluations and enter the results into a databaseEnsure specification complianceCollect flour tailings and document findingsAssist with solving problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending actionAssist with training for GMP'sPerform basic lab analysis (pH, moistures) on finished productFollow instructions as directed by the Quality Assurance leadershipEnsure proper documentation of Quality Assurance disputes and/or concerns in daily QA Report.Send completed daily QA Report at end of every shiftGeneral Responsibilities:Communicate effectively with team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuityActively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense related activitiesPerform additional duties as directedEducation & Experience:High school graduate or equivalentPost high school training in laboratory sciences or related preferred.Minimum of 1-3 years experience in food quality including GMP's, HACCP, food safety and sanitation, data collection and analysis, laboratory skills, etc.Experience in SQF preferredSpecific Competencies:Ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong interpersonal and oral/written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and solid math skillsExcellent planning and organizational skillsEnglish language proficiency, both written and verbalDemonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilitiesGeneral Competencies:IntegrityHands on individualSelf-motivatedFlexibilityAbility to work alone or on teamsCatallia Mexican Foods is an Equal/Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
