Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree. Two years of experience in financial auditing is required. Additional experience in financial auditing may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.Recruitment NotesThis is advanced professional office and field work in the examination of records pertaining to state and county tax collection laws. An employee in this class is responsible for the examination of transient rental facility, and food and beverage facility records to determine that laws relating to the collection of state and county taxes are followed. Responsibilities include determining compliance of transient rental facilities and food and beverage establishments with Florida Statutes and Dade County Ordinances, preparing documented determinations of findings, submitting additional tax assessments, preparing a variety of complex statistical reports, providing technical assistance to other field employees involved in the enforcement of tax collection laws, and attending meetings to explain and clarify assessments and regulatory requirements. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment in the examination of the more complex transient rental and food and beverage accounts for compliance with state and local regulations. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through personal conferences and written reports for effective tax assessment determinations and related field and office duties.
