Pilot/Project Coordinator
Company DescriptionAdopt A Destiny provides guidance and support for single women and mothers in New York, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges. Through financial assistance, mentorship, and personal growth programs, we help individuals from underserved communities achieve stability and success. Our organization focuses on fostering resilience, leadership, and long-term development, particularly for first-generation, low-income students and women aged 19-29 facing hardship. By bridging the gap between potential and opportunity, we enable individuals to build brighter futures.A Little Bit About This WorkAt Adopt-A-Destiny, we are starting a 16-week pilot called "Interview-to-Income." We aren’t looking to run a massive program or "fix" anyone’s life. Instead, we are testing a very specific, small-scale approach to see what actually helps women stay stable and supported during their first few months of a new job.We need someone to walk alongside a small group of participants as they navigate the transition into the workforce. This role isn't about being a hero; it’s about being a reliable, calm presence for someone during a season of change. What the Days Will Look LikeYour work will be focused on creating a sense of consistency. This includes:Getting Started: Leading simple, respectful intake conversations to ensure participants feel ready and informed.Weekly Check-ins: Spending 30 minutes each week with participants to talk through the practicals—attendance, how they’re adjusting, and any hurdles they’re facing.Navigating Barriers: Helping solve the small things that can become big problems, like transportation hitches or scheduling conflicts.Keeping Record: Maintaining clear, honest notes so we can learn from this pilot and understand what works.Coordination: Keeping a steady line of communication open with employers and partner organizations to make sure everyone is on the same page. What We’re Looking ForWe care more about your reliability than a long list of credentials. This role is a good fit if:You show up. Consistency is the most important thing you can offer. You communicate clearly. You prefer plain language and practical solutions over complex ones. You stay steady. When situations evolve or challenges pop up, you remain calm and focused on the next step. You’re comfortable with the basics. You can manage simple tools like Google Docs or Sheets to keep us organized.Backgrounds in customer service, admin work, or community support are helpful, but your ability to follow through is what matters most. How We Support YouWe don't want our team to be out-of-pocket for doing this work. We cover reasonable travel and participant-related expenses. You’ll also have:A clear structure to follow so you’re never guessing.Direct, ongoing support from the Founder and the rest of our team.
