This position may teach across programs and at multiple CU Nursing locations, including the Anschutz Medical Campus and the Legacy Campus. Potential courses include foundational and adult-gerontology acute-care content. The rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and scholarship. The successful candidate must work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community members from diverse backgrounds.The faculty are integral to providing a high-quality student experience. The role will interface directly with students and is responsible for maintaining competency in the subject matter, preparing teaching materials in alignment with best-practice guidelines, and serving as a role model for professionalism.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate learning by engaging students in high-level learning activities related to application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of course content.Remain current with best practices in teaching pedagogy and cognitive learning theories.Maintain clinical relevancy regarding guidelines and interventions pertinent to patient care; serve as a role model to teach students how to interact, assess, and make sound clinical decisions.Contribute to a psychologically safe learning environment, foster the free exchange of constructive feedback, encourage collaborative teamwork, clearly outline expectations, and cultivate a positive learning environment.Collaborate with teaching teams to foster continued quality improvement and shared decision-making regarding course content and assignments, clinical experiences, and/or evaluation methods.Provide a climate of mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration; act as a role model for patient-centered care.Evaluate student application of knowledge.Participate in professional development activities that address desired learning outcomes and align with an individual's role and the priorities of the institution.Use educational technology, task training devices, and computer-assisted instructional tools in the skills laboratory and classroom settings for teaching, learning, practice, and assessment of clinical competencies.Promote accountability among students by implementing clear guidelines and expectations for preparation, engagement, and self-directed study/practice.Encourage simulation scholarship (publications, editorials, empirical research, blogs, social media, and presentations).Participate in professional service to the CU Nursing community.Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.Provide education through learner-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill patient needs and meet workforce demands.Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, respect, lifelong learning, diversity, ethics, and personal and professional development.Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing while abiding by mandates of the University of Colorado and the
