Test Engineer

Job Title: Systems EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and qualification of advanced tactical flight systems and subsystems. In this role, you will work across hardware, firmware, and software disciplines to ensure mission-critical electronic systems meet rigorous performance, reliability, and regulatory standards. You will contribute throughout the full engineering lifecycle-from requirements and design reviews to system-level testing, validation, and post-delivery support-while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.ResponsibilitiesConduct system-level qualification and validation activities for complex electronic systems integrating hardware, firmware, and embedded software.Develop and execute system-level test strategies to ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.Perform systems engineering tasks across the lifecycle of tactical programs and R&D efforts.Interpret, refine, and manage requirements for software-defined radio (SDR) and related software capabilities.Produce formal engineering analyses and documentation; manage system interfaces and configuration.Support major program milestones including Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and other design reviews.Contribute to the development, integration, and evaluation of hardware, software, support equipment, and system components.Collaborate effectively across engineering, program, and business units to maintain a productive work environment.Maintain a predictable on-site schedule (minimum three days per week) and support occasional travel between company locations.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience.Active Secret security clearance.Experience in system-level testing of electronic systems with embedded software and firmware.Experience supporting RF, tactical, or electro-optical systems from concept through post-delivery support.Strong experience in Systems Engineering and Test Engineering execution.Proven experience with qualification testing for systems operating in harsh or mission-critical environments.Solid understanding of hardware/software/firmware integration and verification methods.Ability to coordinate technical activities, manage schedules, and resolve engineering disconnects.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical results and engage with customers.Additional Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience with RF mission systems, including radar, electronic warfare, or secure communications.Familiarity with MIL-STD, DO-160, or similar qualification standards.Experience in environmental, EMI/EMC, or ruggedized system testing.Experience supporting defense or aerospace programs.Ability to prepare and present technical content during major reviews.Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, including CAMEO.Work EnvironmentThis position offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Monday and Friday. Work may be performed in various environments including office, lab, production floor, cleanroom, outdoor, or remote research settings. Occasional work in production areas requires personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to travel between company sites in varying weather conditions is necessary.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Boulder, CO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
