Senior Mechanical Commissioning Project Engineer

Our Commissioning division partners with clients across data centers and mission-critical environments to validate that systems are designed, installed, and performing at the highest level.We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, field leadership, and the ability to drive outcomes in high-performance environments.Why This Role Stands Out This is not a documentation-driven role.This is a position for someone who:Owns system performance from design through execution Understands how complex mechanical systems operate as a whole Can identify and solve issues before they impact operations You will work on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects where performance, reliability, and precision are non-negotiable.What You Will DoProject Leadership & Execution Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle Execute functional testing, witness testing, and system validation Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectationsTechnical Expertise & Problem Solving Evaluate HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, and automation systems Troubleshoot system performance issues Review design documentationClient Engagement Lead meetings and communicate findings Build relationships with clients and contractorsOperational Contributions Complete reports and manage time and expensesTeam Development Mentor junior engineers and support trainingWhat You BringCore Qualifications Degree in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field 7+ years experience or 3+ years commissioning Data center experience requiredTechnical Capabilities Experience with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems Ability to read construction documentsProfessional Skills Strong communication and problem-solving skillsPhysical Requirements Ability to work in field environments and lift 30 lbsPreferred EIT, CEM, OSHA 30, BIM experienceTravel RequirementsTravel to project sites as needed based on project demands.Why FST At FST, we value execution, accountability, and expertise.
