Senior Ready-Mix Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary The Senior Plant Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and serves as a technical expert responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of equipment used in ready-mix concrete production across multiple plant locations. This position requires a high level of mechanical and electrical expertise, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently while supporting and mentoring other maintenance personnel. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced inspection, diagnostics, and repair of plant machinery, electrical systems, and mobile equipment Lead complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime and ensure reliable plant operations Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, transformers, and control components Maintain and repair plant structures, production equipment, and material handling systems Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required Replace and maintain air lines, hydraulic systems, plumbing, hoses, and piping Support preventive maintenance programs and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability Promote and model safe work practices and assist with training and mentoring less experienced mechanics Work Schedule Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays Flexible hours based on operational and emergency maintenance needs Physical Requirements Ability to walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach in an industrial environment Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in industrial or ready-mix plant maintenance (or equivalent heavy industrial environment) Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Proven ability to work independently, diagnose complex issues, and make sound maintenance decisions Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship
