Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and removing temporary and permanent wood-framed safety systems, correcting unsafe conditions, maintaining tools and equipment, assisting with site organization and housekeeping, and supporting overall project operations.All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington Construction.Integrity ~ Precision ~ Growth ~ Driven ~ RelationshipsKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of jobsite safety controls, signage, barricades, and protection requirementsProficiency using hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficientlyAbility to operate or learn operate telehandlers, forklifts, and skid loaders (certification as required)Skill in performing minor carpentry repairs, adjustments, and touch-upsFamiliarity with multifamily constructionProblem-Solving SkillsEssential Job FunctionsInstall temporary and permanent wood-framed safety systems, including handrails, guardrails, stair and balcony protection, floor and shaft edge protection, barricades, and safety blockingModify, repair, and maintain safety installations as building conditions and phases progressRemove temporary safety systems when they are no longer required and approved for removalInstall and remove temporary construction materials such as barricades, protection, signage, and safety controlsParticipate in site observations, inspections, and walk-throughs to identify safety, quality, and completion itemsAssists in executing punch list execution and complete corrective work related to carpentry, safety systems, and site conditions (e.g, unit turns, including minor repairs, adjustments, and touch-ups)Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a safe, organized, and job-ready conditionOperate hand tools and basic power tools safety & efficientlyOperate Telehandler (lull), skid loader, and forkliftSupport overall jobsite housekeeping, including debris removal, material organization, maintaining clear access paths, and protecting completed workSupport schedule and productivity goals by completing task efficiently and with attention to qualityAssists with exterior work such as site clean-up, landscaping prep, fencing, or common area improvements as neededLock/unlock unit doors & windows for opening & closing of projectFuel & maintain buggies and generatorsComply with all OSHA regulations and company safety standards related to fall protection and site safetyProactively identify unsafe conditions and immediately correct them or communicate concerns to the SuperintendentThe above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. You occasionally work in high, precarious places and are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
