Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Chemist to join our team in Daphne, Alabama. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0–5 years of relevant experience; candidates with equivalent industrial or research experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree. This role involves hands-on experimental work in adsorption and gas-phase analysis, supporting research and development activities in a dynamic laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Measure adsorption isotherms with an emphasis on water and carbon dioxide adsorption. Operate commercial gas-phase adsorption devices (e.g., Micromeritics equipment). Conduct breakthrough measurements using custom-built breakthrough devices. Operate analytical instruments, including gas chromatographs, mass spectrometers, and FTIR spectrometers, for gas-phase analysis. Perform experiments utilizing thermal gravimetric analyzers. Upload and maintain accurate experimental data records. Operate precision mass and pressure control devices using LabVIEW. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, including cleaning analytical glassware and performing routine lab cleaning. Receive and verify delivery packages, confirm quantities, and maintain delivery documentation. Collaborate with the supervisor to understand and execute novel experiments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Experience: 0–5 years in a laboratory or research setting (adsorption or gas-phase analysis experience preferred). Skills: Familiarity with analytic instruments and related instrumentation. Proficiency in using but not coding LabVIEW for device control. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Work Environment Full-time position based in Daphne, Alabama. Hands-on laboratory work with exposure to chemicals and analytical instruments.
