This role oversees the development and management of GIS databases, maps, and spatial data, integrating geographically referenced information across areas such as land use, environmental resources, infrastructure, and transportation networks.Job FunctionsOversees and manages assigned geospatial and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects from planning through execution. Leads and supervises team members, providing direction, support, and performance oversight. Facilitates weekly team meetings to review activities, goals, and address any issues. Develops and documents workflows, processes, and standard operating procedures. Maintains current knowledge of GIS and surveying software, platforms, and emerging technologies. Coordinates with clients to define project scope, tasks, and delivery timelines. Manages inventory and maintenance of GIS and surveying equipment for the Ft. Carson team. Partners with Tepa HR to address personnel matters and support team development. Collaborates with Tepa leadership to drive the success of the Ft. Carson program. Builds and strengthens relationships with existing clients to support long-term partnerships.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in GIS or Geography from an accredited university 5+ years of experience working on geospatial projects Proven experience leading and managing teamsStrong knowledge of geospatial software, tools, and methodologies Proficiency in GPS surveying techniques and related software Process-oriented with a focus on efficiency and consistency Ability to coordinate and collaborate with the Ft. Carson Information Technology group Effective communication skills with both management and clientsPreferred, Not RequiredMaster in Geographical Information Systems; preferred Computer Science or IT background; preferred Geographical Information Systems Professional (GISP); preferred Holds a current Department of Defense Common Access Card (CACEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans
