Contract AI Lead/Architect/Principal Position Type Contract position Initial 6-month contract, renewable based on business needs, performance, and project scope Hyrbid in Minneapolis, MN Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as an AI Lead/AI Architect/AI Principal, or equivalent senior AI technical leadership role. 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, and enterprise software architecture Hands-on experience designing and delivering production AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock. Practical experience with AWS Bedrock, including Bedrock Agents, Bedrock Knowledge Bases, etc. Exposure to Google Cloud Vertex AI is a plus but not required. Strong experience designing agentic AI workflows, including tool calling, multi-step orchestration, state management, error handling, guardrails, and workflow automation. Experience with AI orchestration technologies such as Azure AI Foundry Agents, AWS Bedrock Agents, AWS Step Functions, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar frameworks. Experience designing enterprise Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions using Azure AI Search, Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases, Amazon OpenSearch, Databricks Vector Search, or similar vector/search platforms. Working knowledge of Model Context Protocol and enterprise tool integration patterns. Strong understanding of LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, prompt management, model evaluation, hallucination mitigation, content safety, and responsible AI. Ability to design secure, scalable, cloud-native AI architectures with identity, access control, audit logging, data protection, observability, and governance. Ability to explain AI architecture trade-offs clearly, including cost, latency, accuracy, security, governance, maintainability, and operational complexity. Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Lead architecture and design of enterprise and scalable AI solutions focused on Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, MCP, and agentic orchestration. Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, design standards, and implementation roadmaps for AI agents and AI-enabled workflows. Architect agentic workflows that can retrieve information, reason over context, call tools, execute actions, and safely interact with enterprise systems. Design secure RAG pipelines for enterprise documents, knowledge bases, and structured data sources. Define orchestration patterns for tool use, function calling, workflow automation, state management, approval flows, exception handling, and monitoring. Evaluate and select AI models, orchestration frameworks, vector stores, cloud AI services, integration patterns, and governance controls. Partner with engineering teams to move AI solutions from prototype to production. Provide technical advisory, architecture reviews, design documentation, implementation recommendations, and hands-on guidance to engineering and platform teams. Establish AI governance, prompt management, evaluation, monitoring, observability, and responsible AI practices. Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across AI initiatives.
