Position Summary The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health by preparing reports, analyzing data, and advising the CEO on strategies to ensure financial stability. The Finance Manager provides leadership in budgeting, cash flow management, regulatory compliance, supervising accounting staff, and maintaining compliance with external agencies and internal controls. The position is a member of the Executive Leadership team and reports directly to Chief Executive Officer. The is a full-time position with starting salary range of $80,000-$90,000 annually with lucrative available benefits.Required Skills & Qualificationso  Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economicso  A minimum of three years of accounting, financial analysis, or related experience; experience in non-profit setting and HUD reporting preferredo  Accounting software proficiency required; Sage experience preferredo  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skillso  Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and decision-making skillso  Medicaid and/or HUD Housing experience a pluso  Able to be bondedEmployment Expectationso  Dependabilityo  Integrity in financial and reporting practiceso  Ability to meet all deadlineso  Appropriate use of supervision and consultationo  Maintain clear and accurate recordso  Must be able to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivatedo  Good written and verbal communication skillso  Able to maintain confidential data and information o  Problem solving expert, especially with reconciliation issueso  Able to interact professionally with a variety of participants, businesses, employees, and supplierso  Compliance with Personnel Policieso  Respect for and openness to the insights of otherso  Attendance at meetings and trainings as appropriateResponsibilitiesMonitor quarterly and annual filings for compliance related to HUD, Charitable Gaming, Secretary of State, Medicaid, and other required statutory reportingEnsures the agency is in good standing by processing and supervising submissions to third party payers, including MedicaidSupervises monthly billing for accuracy to Medicaid and HUD Collaborates on HUD PRAC renewals and ensures submissions Bi-weekly reconciliation of payroll-related processes and expense payouts when neededMonthly reconciliation of resident accounts and produce/mail resident statements when needed Daily monitoring of bank accounts and initiates transfer of funds for cash management Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements as needed for all Day Spring entitiesParticipates in monthly Board Finance Committee Meetings and ensures timely delivery of reports Accuracy in allocating expenditures to HUD houses and managing fund transfers Ensures accurate allocation of hours of personnel to HUD properties, as applicableConducts monthly Medicaid Billing AccrualManage staff-issued credit cards, opening/closing, and ensuring balances are paid monthlyCompletes monthly filings for the agency Provider Tax Manages prepaid insurance journal entriesCoordinate with Billing & Occupancy Specialist to ensure accuracy of HUD and accounting recordsEnsures completion of monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts Performs and/or supervises all accounting functions for Day Spring and related entities including but not limited to: billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, and account reconciliationsProvides coaching and supervision to the Administrative Assistant Oversees the accuracy of journal entries, money collections, deposits, reconciliations, etc. Provides leadership and collaborates on creating the annual budget and related financial modeling Reconciles accounts, prepares schedules and helps to complete necessary work for successful external audit processesAssists with matters related to taxing authoritiesParticipates as a member of the Leadership Team and provides guidance on financial guidance related to operationsSupports and collaborates with the Development Department on fundraising events, ensuring reconciliation of Day Spring Foundation Ensures compliance with the Charitable Gaming commission for development eventsCollaborates with program leaders and the Operations Manager in order to maintain awareness of agency changes.Performs other duties as assignedPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time salaried position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed.
