Systems Engineer - Radar Test
Job DescriptionPosition Title: Systems Engineer – Radar TestPosition Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Systems Engineer – Radar Test opportunity located in Crane, IN.Job Responsibilities:Developing subsystem and system-level test plans and reports for radar sensor and signal processing systemsLeading and conducting various kinds of testing including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL), anechoic chamber testing, and field-level radar testingLeading root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and eliminating contributors through analysis and/or hands-on testingWorking in conjunction with Software Engineering teams to develop software system requirements and test requirements for radar signal processing, tracking, and discrimination algorithmsSupporting radar field test planning, system preparation, and test execution at government test ranges and other test facilitiesDeveloping system architectures for radar systems and subsystems including RF front-end, signal processing chains, and data handlingConducting trade studies and performing design research of engineering concepts to determine optimal requirements and system architectureDeveloping system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and design documentation; performing peer reviews of fellow team members' workParticipating in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered radar systems to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirementsLeading or supporting system engineering technical reviews (SETR) including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).Job Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline7-15 years of industry experience in defense or aerospace development programsAbility to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higherHands-on integration and test experience with radar systems and/or RF subsystems is a mustDevelopment-side program experience required; candidates from government support or SETA/advisory roles will not be consideredDemonstrated testing best practices including managing test configurations, adhering to safety procedures, and organizing data collection and analysisExperience with radar signal processing, RF hardware, phased array systems, or target tracking algorithms strongly preferredSharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentDemonstrated technical leadership capabilities with a results-oriented, hands-on approach.Job Details:Job Type: ContractLocation: Crane, IN.Pay Rate: Market RateRequired US Citizenship -May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level.Benefits Package: Protingent offers competitive salaries, insurance plan options (HDHP plan or POS plan), education/certification reimbursement, pre-tax commuter benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), and an administered 401k plan.About Protingent: Protingent is an Award-Winning provider of top-tier Engineering and IT talent, trusted by companies at the forefront of innovation — from Software and Aerospace to AI, Clean Tech, Medical Devices, and Connected Technologies.
