Job Description
The primary accountability of this position is to assist in delivering a coordinated design through thorough and proactive communication with the internal and external design teams. The position will develop the conceptualize the initial design approach, perform necessary engineering calculations for design and mentor junior designers as they assist with the design process.
Electrical Knowledge and Accountability
Electrical engineers will be responsible for design and specification of building power distribution systems, general lighting and control systems, and applicable energy calculations. Electrical engineers should be familiar with directly- and indirectly-governing codes and standards, sustainable construction practices, coordination practices such as connection coordination with mechanical systems, commercial food service, pool and spa, and other third-party consultants. Electrical engineers will also have a general familiarity of other electrical-type systems, such as pathways for traditional “special” systems, fire alarm systems, and photovoltaic systems.

Primary Collaborative Team
Operationally, this position is part of a project design team and reports to the project manager, senior designers and engineers, and the service leader of their discipline. This position collaborates closely with a broad group including project team members, other project managers, senior project managers, business unit leaders, Principal in Charge, service leaders and the accounting team to provide a consistent quality and delivery process to our clients.
Experience Profile
2+ years of electrical engineering and design specifically associated with building power and lighting systems
EIT with intent to sit for licensure exam desired
Thorough understanding of, and experience in, this field.
General understanding of all services.
Experience assisting in customer-facing discussions around delivering this service.
Experience working in teams of 3 to 10.
Strong understanding of design tools, software, drafting methods and BIM models.
Experience coordinating multi-discipline models, design and model changes
