Food Banks, Food SecurityPosition: Warehouse CoordinatorOrganization: Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food BankLocation: Wasaga Beach, Ontario (Local candidates preferred due to often challenging winter driving conditions for people from out of town)Position Type: Part-timeHours: 30 hours per weekWage: $27/hourReports to: Executive DirectorApplication Deadline: May 20 at 4:00 p.m.Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews may be scheduled before the deadline.About The RoleThe Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank is seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Warehouse Coordinator to support the safe, efficient, and dignified operation of our food bank warehouse.This role is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, tracking, and preparing food for distribution. The Warehouse Coordinator will work closely with staff and volunteers to ensure food is handled safely, inventory is well managed, and clients receive consistent, respectful service.This is a practical, physical, people-focused role for someone who enjoys keeping systems running smoothly and supporting meaningful community work.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive, inspect, and document incoming food donations and deliveriesComplete food donation pickups as neededEnsure proper stock rotation using FIFO — First In, First OutMaintain accurate inventory recordsMonitor and record temperatures for refrigerated and frozen itemsKeep the warehouse clean, safe, organized, and ready for useFollow food safety standards and public health guidelinesSupport compliance with Food Banks Canada’s Standards of ExcellenceTrain and guide volunteers in warehouse proceduresPrepare food for distribution and support hamper packingReport hazards and help ensure safe equipment useQualificationsExperience in warehouse, logistics, food handling, or a related area preferredStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to lift 40–50 lbs and complete physical warehouse tasksStrong interpersonal skills and comfort working with volunteersBasic record-keeping and computer skillsA dependable, team-oriented approachWorking ConditionsThis position involves physical work, including lifting, standing, bending, and moving items.
