Contract Administrator
Clayton Services is searching for a Contract Administrator to join a thriving civil engineering and construction services firm in Houston, Texas. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for supporting the construction phase of public and private infrastructure projects by managing contract documents, coordinating communication among project stakeholders, and assisting construction managers throughout the bidding and project execution processes.Job Type: Direct HirePay Rate: $55,000 - $80,000/yearBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) w/ match, PTO, life, short & long term disability, ESOP, and more.Contract Administrator Responsibilities:Administer, organize, and route contract documents during the construction phase of civil engineering and construction projectsSupport the Construction Manager throughout bid phases, contract execution, and active construction phasesCoordinate communication between owners, contractors, project managers, construction managers, and field observersSchedule meetings, prepare agendas, coordinate appointments, and assist with conference or project meeting arrangementsAssemble project materials, background documentation, reports, and correspondence as neededPrepare routine non-technical correspondence on behalf of the Construction Manager or project teamTrack project documentation, contract records, submittals, correspondence, and related construction administration itemsCollect information for routine inquiries, reports, and project updatesMaintain organized, accurate, and confidential project filesEscalate non-routine requests, project issues, or documentation concerns to the appropriate managerAssist with general administrative support for the Construction Services group as neededOther duties as assignedContract Administrator Skills and Abilities:Strong understanding of construction administration, project documentation, or civil engineering project supportExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate professionally with owners, contractors, engineers, project managers, and field personnelHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProactive, dependable, and service-oriented attitudeAbility to work independently while also contributing successfully in a team environmentAbility to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretionStrong follow-up skills and ability to keep project documentation moving through the proper channelsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with Newforma or similar engineering/construction document management software is a plusContract Administrator Education and Experience:2-4 years of experience in the construction industry, civil engineering industry, construction administration, or a related project support roleExperience supporting construction managers, project managers, engineers, contractors, or infrastructure project teams preferredCivil engineering, public works, land development, drainage, transportation, utilities, or construction services experience is a strong plusPrevious experience with bid phase support, contract documents, construction correspondence, submittals, RFIs, or project documentation preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, engineering technology, or a related field is a plusContract Administrator - Immediate need.
