This role will be instrumental in building scalable accounting processes, driving technical accounting compliance, and coordinating closely with external advisors, including EY, to prepare audited financial statements and support tax-related matters.The ideal candidate brings strong experience in technical accounting (US GAAP), financial reporting, and audit leadership, particularly within pre-IPO or public company environments.IPO Readiness & Financial ReportingLead accounting workstreams for IPO readiness, including preparation of SEC-ready financial statementsCoordinate closely with external auditors (EY) on financial statement preparation, audit timelines, and deliverablesSupport PCAOB audit readiness, including documentation and remediation of gapsAssist in drafting disclosures, footnotes, and accounting memos for SEC filings (S-1, etc.)Technical Accounting & Policy DevelopmentResearch, document, and implement technical accounting positions under US GAAP (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 718, ASC 340-40)Prepare and review technical accounting memos for complex transactionsEnsure alignment of accounting policies with public company standards and regulatory requirementsProcess Design & Internal ControlsDesign, document, and implement scalable accounting processes to support a public company environmentStrengthen and formalize internal controls in alignment with SOX requirementsPartner with cross-functional teams to improve close processes, reconciliations, and reporting accuracyAudit & Cross-Functional CoordinationServe as primary liaison with external auditors (EY) and other advisorsCoordinate with tax advisors on provision, compliance, and structuring mattersCollaborate with FP&A, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting impactsLeadership & Project ManagementLead and mentor accounting team members through IPO readiness transformationDrive project management of key initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are metFoster a high-performance, collaborative environment across stakeholdersQualificationsQualifications - RequiredCPA designation5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting at a Big 4 or 7-10 years of experience in a smaller public accounting firmStrong technical accounting expertise under US GAAPExperience with IPO readiness, SEC reporting, or public company auditsProven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teamsDeep understanding of internal controls and SOX complianceQualifications - PreferredBackground in Big 4 or large public accounting firmsExperience working with technology, manufacturing, or high-growth companiesPrior involvement in pre-IPO or public company environmentsExposure to IFRS is a plusKey CompetenciesTechnical accounting expertise (ASC 606, 805, 718, etc.)Financial statement preparation & audit coordinationStrong project management and organizational skillsEffective communication with executives, auditors, and advisorsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
