Senior Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for leading intricate analyses to ensure our products will meet customer requirements. This role requires rigorous application of structural mechanics while adhering to manufacturing, testing, and quality best practices. The Senior Structural Engineer will engage in problem-solving daily and regularly present results to internal and external stakeholders.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties and Responsibilities:Perform critical thermomechanical analyses of complex aerospace hardware through commercial analysis packages and hand calculations, working closely with the design team to rapidly iterate on new product developmentPeer review analyses produced by other structures engineers and subcontractorsLiaise with customer on heat exchanger requirementsGenerate technical reviews, reports, and other engineering documentationChampion process improvement activities related to structural analysisReview and approve design changes and test proceduresSupport disposition of technical issues which occur during manufacturingSupport customer reviews and inbound requestsSupport proposals and future product developmentRequired Skills and Abilities:Extensive experience performing structural analysis for mechanical components (aerospace preferred)Expertise in commercial FEA software packagesExpertise in material properties and selection processKnowledge of design principles, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniquesKnowledge of 3D modeling and CAD softwareKnowledge of heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamicsKnowledge of drawing ANSI standards and GD&T proceduresHighly motivated self-starterStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsCapable of thriving in a fast-paced environmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related fieldMaster's degree preferred5+ years of experience in a similar rolePhysical Requirements:* Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environment* Ability to move equipment up to 25 poundsOther Requirements:* Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder.CompensationEmployee Type: SalariedSalary Minimum: $105,000Salary Maximum: $150,000Incentive: NoDisclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
