Fund or Senior Fund Accountant

Fund Or Senior Fund Accountant Y Combinator is seeking a fund or senior fund accountant to assist with the day-to-day accounting of the firm's venture capital funds. This is an ideal position for a self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to learn who wants to be an integral part of a finance team at a unique venture capital firm. The ideal candidate is exceedingly well organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a very fast-paced, "hands-on" type of environment. The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and safeguard the confidential nature of information is crucial to this role. This is a full-time position. Candidates must live in the SF Bay Area and be available to work onsite at our office located at Pier 70, San Francisco, 2-3 days a week, with flexibility to work from home the rest of the week. Key responsibilities include: Record investment and certain fund level transactions in our accounting system and database. Prepare financial statements on a quarterly basis for multiple entities. Process invoices and initiate wires. Assist with the annual audit process and work with our external auditors. Serve as a utility team player by assisting with various special projects. Y Combinator is always innovating with agenda and new data solutions. Skills: Proficient understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles (preferred). Excel mastery is a must, and SQL experience is a plus. Strong aptitude for numbers and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience: Top performer with asset management experience preferred. 1+ years of public accounting, private industry, or fund administrator experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or CPA candidate. Compensation: $130,000 - $175,000 (depending on experience). We are open to hiring a fund accountant or senior fund accountant. Compensation and title will be dependent on the experience and skills of the candidate.
