Employees join a mission-driven community committed to respect, diversity, social justice, and lifelong learning.About The PositionThe Department of Education prepares educators and practitioners who are committed to equity, inclusion, and student success through reflective, socially just, and practice-informed education.The Adjunct Professor in Education delivers high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction that bridges theory and professional practice, supporting adult learners through equity-centered, constructivist, and trauma-informed pedagogy.ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate and graduate Education and Special Education courses.Engage adult learners through inclusive pedagogy.Assess student learning and maintain records.Foster respectful and supportive learning environments.Communicate professionally with students and academic leadership.Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in Education or a related field.Relevant professional experience in Education.Knowledge of educational theory, curriculum development, and effective teaching practices in higher education.Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in an online format using a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).Commitment to Pacific Oaks College’s mission and social justice values.Preferred QualificationsDoctorate in Education or related field.Publications or research in Education.Proficiency in Canvas LMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and online teaching tools.LocationFlex: This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to choose their work location based on role requirements and team needs.Anticipated Salary$25.00 to $28.00 per hourCompliance with Federal Antidiscrimination GuidancePacific Oaks College is committed to providing equal employment and educational opportunities to all people and strictly adheres to federal anti-discrimination laws.
