Position Summary We are?seeking?a reliable and motivated High-Volume expeditor to support our fast-paced kitchen operations. The Kitchen Expeditor acts as the communication link between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring that all food orders are prepared accurately, plated correctly, and delivered in a timely manner. This role oversees the coordination of ticket flow, prioritizes orders during high-volume service, and maintains quality and presentation standards. The Expeditor works closely with cooks, servers, and management to support smooth kitchen operations and exceptional guest service. Key Responsibilities Coordinate communication between kitchen staff and front-of-house to ensure accurate, timely food deliveryManage ticket flow, organize order sequence, and prioritize dishes during peak service periodsInspect plates for correct portioning, presentation, temperature, and accuracy before they leave the kitchenCommunicate order changes, modifications, and special requests quickly and clearly to kitchen staffEnsure that all completed dishes are delivered to the correct server or runner without delayMaintain a clean and organized expo line, including garnishes, plating utensils, heat lamps, and service windowsAssist in resolving order issues, shortages, or delays to maintain smooth serviceSupport kitchen staff by relaying urgent requests, communicating wait times, and helping prevent bottlenecksMonitor timing of all kitchen stations to ensure coordinated plate release for multi-item ordersUphold food safety, sanitation, and quality-control standards during all phases of serviceCollaborate with management to improve service flow, guest satisfaction, and communication practicesAssist with end-of-shift cleanup, restocking, and preparation for the next service as needed Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen, food service, or hospitality environment preferredStrong communication skills and the ability to coordinate between FOH and BOH teamsAbility to multitask and remain organized in fast-paced, high-pressure environmentsKeen attention to detail, especially regarding food presentation and accuracyBasic understanding of kitchen stations, cooking terminology, and food safety practicesAbility to stay calm and effective during rush periodsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasksDependable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team Working conditions /Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours)Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting of items up to 25-40 lbsExposure to hot, humid environments, including proximity to ovens, grills, and steamFast-paced, high-noise kitchen environmentRequires working evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods as neededMust be able to work in close quarters and maintain situational awareness for safetyAbility to perform repetitive tasks, maintain focus, and sustain a high level of energy throughout service Benefits Performance-based wage increasesFlexible scheduling (with peak-period requirements).Access to certifications, training programs, and professional development.Regular performance reviews with actionable feedback.Opportunities for cross-training and collaboration across departments.
