Drama HS Advisor - Per Production
Job Title: DRAMA HS ADVISOR (PER PRODUCTION up to 3)
Reports To: Principal/Superintendent
Evaluated By: Principal or Designee
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership for the implementation and organization of Drama program.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position.
Expressed interest for coaching in an approved club or student group.
Successful experience in leadership with student group(s). (preferred)
Physical ability to perform essential functions. (see addendum)
Available to work during hours outside of the regular work day, possibly including weekends.
Understanding of and agreement with the District’s Goals of an Activity Program and the Code of Ethics for coaches. (See Board Policies and Advisor Handbook)
Possess knowledge of the State, Federal and School Board Policies and Regulations regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action.
Familiar with the care and treatment of student injury protocol. (See Board Policy and Coach’s Handbook)
Such alternative to the above requirements as the School Board or the Administration may deem appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the duties and responsibilities as stated in the primary administrative assignment and as stated below. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinate the recruitment of participants in Drama.
Create and schedule audition times
Create a practice schedule for each production.
Propose production dates to our Athletic Secretary
Purchase productions materials
Maintain equipment (lights, sound, green room)
Arrange with Athletic Secretary a ticket taker and supervisor
Manage Drama ASB funds
On-going fundraisers minimum of $1000 per year
Provide a positive learning environment for the student participants.
Advise individual participants in the skills necessary for successful involvement in club activities.
Plan and schedule a regular program of activity in season.
Support responsibilities:
Arrange transportation to and from club events.
Arrange travel and details for any overnight trips per Board policy.
Coordinate fundraising activities of the club.
Assist with the coordination of all the elements of the state wide and national league operations.
Manage student behavior during activity practice sessions/events.
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities from damage and loss. Equipment maintenance is critical.
Assist the activity director/administrator, when necessary, in scheduling club and student activities, events, and contests.
Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
Maintain complete and accurate records as required (i.e. attendance forms, insurance records, etc)
Oversee the safety conditions of the facility/area in which assigned activity/event is conducted at all times, especially when students are present.
Establish performance criteria for eligibility in competition in his/her activity.
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Assume primary responsibility for scheduling and preparation of area event is to be held.
Perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by the School Board or Administration and are communicated to the advisor.
Maintains satisfactory attendance. (See Advisory Handbook)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possess a valid First Aid and CPR card if required.
Complete and pass a criminal background check.
Blood borne Pathogens Training/Hepatitis B Shots Series Training if required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary according to the current contract schedule as bargained.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of licensed personnel and evaluated by designated advisor.
