Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Position Mechanical Integrity EngineerLocation: Nashua, NHAmphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, highbandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design,sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking anexperienced Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our Product Development team.The position will be located in Nashua, NH.RESPONSIBILITIES:As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer you will provide the lead in supporting thedevelopment of new products through testing and analysis of data and designs.Support the development of new products and processes via mechanicaltesting and qualification of electrical and opto-electronic cable assemblies andcomponents.Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long-termreliability of electrical and opto-electronic cable assemblies that factor incustomer use and application requirements.Process and analyze testing results and create reports and presentationsfor internal and external customers.Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such astolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating testplans.Prepare test samples and test requests. Design and fabricate testfixtures. Interface with test lab technicians.Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturingpersonnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes thrupilot production, as well as interfacing with beta-site customers.QUALIFICATIONS:BS/MS Mechanical Engineering with 5 - 10 years of experienceExperience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or SolidworksExperience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plusExperience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stressesof high speed electrical connectorsExperience specifying testing protocol in automotive or consumer industrieswould be a plusExperience with Finite Element Analysis tools desirable, ANSYS experiencewould be a plusExperience with Tolerance AnalysisAbility to communicate with technical & non-technical peopleAbility to work in team environmentDesire to create and design new products and processesKnowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplasticswould be a plusBasic understanding of electrical connectors
