Architect
Overview MatX designs hardware tailored for the world’s best AI models. We develop vertically integrated full-stack solutions from silicon to systems to train and run large models. MatX is seeking an Architect to help create best-in-class silicon for high-performance and sustainable GenAI. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering performant silicon architecture at the full-chip or subsystem level.
Responsibilities Develop, support, and own hardware architecture throughout the entire product lifecycle
Understand customer use cases, workload performance, and ML systems research
Produce requirements and architecture specifications
Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and ML-research teams across all project phases
Drive performance improvements using pre- and post-silicon tooling
Contribute to verification and validation
Hands-on problem solving to drive solutions and deliver results
Requirements Relevant experience in chip or system architecture, silicon design, or related hardware development
Track record of delivering innovative features and techniques in chips and systems related to ML, compute, networking, storage, or related domains
Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Python, C/C++, Rust, Bluespec, or comparable languages for chip architecture and silicon design
Skilled at debugging complex architectural issues across design, validation, system engineering, software, and field support
This is a hybrid role requiring work from our Mountain View, CA office 3 days a week (Tuesday–Thursday)
Compensation The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on role, experience, location, job-related skills, and education. Offers may include equity. Salary ranges vary by experience level.
0-5 years of experience - $120,000 - $200,000 + equity
5-10 years of experience - $120,000 - $300,000 + equity
10+ years of experience - $120,000 - $400,000 + equity
