Plating Production Technician

The Plating Production Technician is responsible for preparing parts for the plating process by properly racking and wiring components to ensure quality coating application. This position also assists with post-plating inspection activities, verifying that plated parts meet customer specifications and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pre-Plating Preparation Rack, wire, and fixture parts according to work instructions and plating requirements. Ensure proper placement and secure attachment of parts to support optimal plating results. Inspect parts prior to processing for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with specifications. Load and unload parts from racks and fixtures safely and efficiently. Maintain production flow by preparing parts to meet scheduling requirements. Post-Plating Inspection Assist in the inspection of plated parts for coating quality, coverage, appearance, and workmanship. Verify dimensions, finish quality, and plating thickness requirements as directed. Identify and report defects, nonconformances, or process concerns to supervisors and quality personnel. Segregate and document nonconforming materials when required. Support final packaging and preparation of completed parts for shipment. General Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and work instructions. Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with housekeeping standards. Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage. Complete production and quality documentation accurately. Assist with other production-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Manufacturing, plating, assembly, or inspection experience preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions and specifications written in English. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic measuring and inspection skills preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequent use of hands for handling small parts, wiring, and racking operations. Ability to lift and move materials. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, protective equipment requirements, and varying temperatures.
