Job Function: MedTech Sales Job Sub Function: Clinical Sales – Hospital/Hospital Systems (Commission) Job Category: Professional We are searching for the best talent for Field Reimbursement Manager. This position requires 75% travel. Purpose This role partners cross-functionally to translate complex reimbursement, policy, and clinical data into clear, compelling insights that influence decision makers at the enterprise level. You Will Be Responsible For Work with hospital and physician customers to provide education for Impella therapy, including DRG, ICD-10 and CPT coding and best practice documentation. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders (O.R. and Cath Lab staff, billing, Administration and Physicians – interventionists and surgeons) at hospitals engaged in Impella procedures to support the site in establishing and maintaining a Protected PCI program through the development and implementation of reimbursement plans (coding, coverage, payment) unique to each provider. Articulate a thorough understanding of the commercial and government payer landscape, including coverage policies and payment processes, by identifying payer opportunities and issues and implementing programs to resolve or mitigate barriers to entry for the Impella device; this includes managing and addressing coverage policy issues with payers as necessary. Present complex health economic information to influential and diverse groups in a way that is engaging, credible, and easily understood. Manage relationships with Commercial Insurance service carriers to optimize reimbursement environment and coverage for ABIOMED technology. Assist Regional and Territory Sales Managers in the development, implementation, and management of strategic initiatives within geography. Support sales and clinical teams with reimbursement questions and issues. Create training and deliver education programs to sales force, physicians, medical directors, billing personnel, distributors, and other internal and external stakeholders as needed. Through in-person and virtual meetings, educate and train sales team on health economic tools and messaging; train sales team members on the use of economic tools in a compliant manner. Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next level of management. Follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable. For those who supervise or manage a staff, ensure subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies, and procedures. Qualifications / Requirements 6+ years experience in MedTech and cardiology. Previous experience in or strong working knowledge of the medical device industry, specifically pertaining to health economics, reimbursement planning and program implementation. Bachelor's Degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA, MPH, or MHA in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, or a similar discipline is highly desired, but not required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, experienced in developing relationships at all organizational levels to influence business objectives. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution. Demonstrates responsiveness and a sense of urgency. Demonstrates ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrates comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt continuously. Experience and comfort with complex concept sales involving changes in customer behavior or care pathways. Functional and cross-functional teamwork experience. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base pay range for this position is $114,000–$182,150 annually. The position is eligible for an annual performance bonus and a long-term incentive program. Eligible employees may participate in health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Time-off benefits include up to 120 hours of vacation, up to 40 hours of sick time (up to 56 hours in Washington), and up to 13 days of holiday pay including floating holidays.
