Help us help others, and join Team Unum today!General SummaryThis is the second level (Tier 2) support role within HR Service Delivery and provides case management support to complex employee and manager inquiries across the hire to retire life cycle. This role requires a consultation, critical thinking, and problem-solving approach to ensure consistency with case resolution. Individuals will perform administrative activities that are complex and require higher level of judgment to be applied which requires a mastery of all fundamentals of the employee life cycle. The role collaborates across functions by identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience and realize operational efficiencies.There is flexibility in the opening, and we are evaluating individuals from entry to experienced levels.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesIndependently triages and resolves complex cases, provides continuous status updates, and ensures accurate and timely case resolution and documentation. Where applicable, escalate inquiries to HR Tier 3 (COE) as defined applicable process documents.Applies expertise and knowledge of HR resources, business processes, and standard operating procedures that are applicable to the assigned life cycle. Resolve inquiries by utilizing procedures, documents, and other business rules. Collaborate with others for alignment and knowledge sharing. Exercises judgment and makes effective decisions when interpreting policies, processes, programs, and regulations.Delivers a positive, professional, customer orientated experience with follow-through, attention to detail and resourcefulness.Conducts data analysis from case management system, identify trends, escalated risks/concerns, and develop recommendations to increase adoption of self-service channels.Identifies opportunities to revise or improve end user content, policies, programs, or procedures within specified employee life cycle.Where applicable, review and reconcile pay impacting output to ensure accuracy. Work closely with key stakeholders and vendors to accurately and timely process pay-related adjustments.Assists with the documentation of internal operating procedures as needed.Demonstrates change agility and participates in appropriate systems testing.Serve as training resource for first level case management team, (Tier 1).Owns responsibility for confidentiality, data integrity, ensuring its validity, accuracy, and timely entry into the applicable HR system(s).Educates employees and managers on HR resources available to them and encourages the use of self-service tools and platforms as appropriate.Performs other related duties as assigned.Job SpecificationsUndergraduate degree preferred.3-5+ years’ experience in HR or equivalent relevant experience.Knowledge of HR industry terminology, technology, research, and practice. This includes knowledge of HR operating environments, issues, trends, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and any applicable software. Prior experience in a HR ”help desk” a plus.Strong consulting skills to influence others, develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise for a client in a professional manner.Proven experience in managing complex HR processes, being able to problem solve and think of scalable solutions.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find innovative solution to problems.Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) with an ability to listen & respond to customer queries.Knowledge of and ability to adhere to and update HR policies, procedures, and practices.Strong desire to continuously improve processes & deliver against agreed objectives/ service levels.Multi-tasking experience in a fast-paced environment, completing work tasks with speed and accuracy in a detailed work environment.Prior experience handling a blend of employee life cycle events such as but not limited to benefits, payroll, leaves of absence. Effectively handles pressure and demands from multiple customers and competing priorities.Ability to handle HR information in a confidential and professional manner.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.$45,600.00-$82,100.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
