Lead Systems Engineer

Overview As a Systems Engineer Lead, you will guide technical direction across programs from requirements to verification. You’ll manage budgets and drive new mission concepts and architectures for our space-based broadband initiatives. You’ll coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to achieve system-level integration and support proposals, reviews, and risk mitigation. This role sits at the intersection of engineering rigor and program leadership in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will shape the path forward for next-generation space systems and mentor junior engineers. ResponsibilitiesLead systems engineering on assigned programs from requirements through V&VDevelop and track technical budgets (mass, power, link, schedule) across subsystemsDevelop mission concepts and system architectures in response to needsTranslate high-level requirements into subsystem/interface specificationsCoordinate RF, software, mechanical, and electrical teams for system integrationSupport proposals, basis-of-estimate, and cost/schedule inputsLead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and TIMsIdentify and mitigate risks; maintain risk registers and present to leadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of systems engineering experienceAt least 2 years as SE Lead on a program of recordExperience in space, satellite, or defense programs (preferred)Experience with requirements management tools and configuration control processesStrong interpersonal leadership across cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication; ability to brief executivesComfort operating in ambiguity and defining paths forwardDOORSJamaCameo Systems Modeler (MBSE)
