Custodial Team Lead

Custodian Position Custodians work in various settings and are responsible for the general upkeep of a building. They are key members of the custodial team who work collaboratively with Custodial Team leads to provide quality custodial services to our clients. Role and Responsibilities Formulate work assignments for each site and ensure all employees are properly trained for assignments. Counsel employees on appropriate interpersonal communication, problem solving, and other job maintenance skills. Document observations about individual team members' attendance, punctuality, performance and behavior and communicate this information to the Custodial Supervisor as appropriate. Obtain, pick up and deliver custodial supplies and safety equipment so as to ensure that all employees under supervision have proper equipment and supplies to perform their duties. Monitor staff to ensure safety procedures and department policies are followed. Inspect the work of all employees and fill out inspection reports nightly. Work directly with the cleaning teams to ensure effective teamwork. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment. Transport cleaning teams to various work assignments as required. Adhere to the assigned work schedule. Delivers exceptional customer service. Represents the organization in the community in a positive manner. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Required Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and/or sign language preferred. Experience with disabled or disadvantaged population. At least one year of hands-on custodial experience, including floor re-finishing. At least six (6) months of supervisory experience. Some knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work, including safety practices. Ability to lift fifty pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to read and write. Basic computer skills. Valid driver's license, personal auto and liability insurance, and good driving record. Ability to pass a criminal background check (subject to requirements of assigned site client). Physical Requirements Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to stand, bend and twist for eight hours.
