We have a full-time need for an I&R Technicians skilled in Fiber installations and repairs, located in Richmond, IN to perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POTS & DSL (HSI high-speed internet). Maintaining and repairing outside copper plant facilities within assigned geographic service areas are also included. What You’ll Do Install fiber optic cables in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings Set up and configure network equipment like routers, switches, and optical network terminals (ONTs) Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber optic networks, such as signal loss, cable damage, or connectivity problems Replace or repair faulty cables, connectors, and equipment Use specialized equipment to test and measure signal strength and quality Ensure installations meet industry standards and specifications Provide technical support and explain services to customers Educate customers on proper use and maintenance of their fiber optic services Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and tests Generate reports on service calls and system performance What You’ll Need Must have their own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack Must have their own tools to perform the job. 28’ ladders needed for aerial work Must Android smart phones are also a requirement Understanding of fiber optic technology, including splicing, termination, &testing Proficiency with tools/equipment used for fiber optic installation & maintenance Ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently Capable of interpreting technical data and making informed decisions Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers & explaining technical concepts Ability to work well with other technicians and teams Staying updated on industry trends and new technologies Ability to handle delicate fiber optic cables and equipment Capable of working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights GridSource is a proud supporter of our U.S. military, veterans, and their families.
