You'd be working in the communications department, handling calls and emergency paging for a busy hospital campus around the clock.Top 3 SkillsHospital or call center phone operator experienceElectronic medical record system useEmergency paging and alarm protocolsWhat You'll DoAnswer and direct incoming calls for the hospitalGive callers phone numbers and department locationsOperate the paging system for overhead and pager announcementsFollow emergency codes and alarm protocolsWork with hospital security during emergency situationsMonitor incoming faxes, including lab requests and admission formsRegister patients accurately in the electronic medical record systemUse two patient identifiers to confirm the correct patient every timeLog emergency codes accurately in the code bookClock in and out on time for every scheduled shiftWhat We Need From YouAt least 6 months of experience as an operator in a hospital or call centerStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfortable using a computer and basic office softwareWorking knowledge of medical terminologyReliable attendance and on time arrival every shiftPreferred/BonusBilingual in English and Spanish, or English and VietnamesePrior hospital admitting experienceHigh school diplomaMedical terminology course or certificateAbout ElevaitElevait Solutions was founded by veterans who believe that how you treat people is the only thing that actually matters in this industry.
