Assistant Project Manager (Construction / Development Services)The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Working under the direction of a Project Manager, the APM assists in managing schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication between stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Construction SupportAssist in coordinating the competitive bidding process, including distributing bid packages, tracking responses, and organizing contractor proposals Support the review of plans, specifications, and project requirements Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and maintain logs Help qualify General Contractors and vendors based on project requirements Project CoordinationMaintain and update project schedules, budgets, and tracking reports Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes Track project milestones and proactively flag potential delays or issues Assist with permitting and coordination with local authorities, landlords, and consultants Construction Phase SupportMonitor project progress and assist in ensuring alignment with project schedule and scope Conduct periodic site visits (as needed) and document progress Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation Assist in reviewing contractor pay applications and supporting documentation Communication & ReportingServe as a point of contact for internal team members and external stakeholders Prepare regular project status reports, including schedule updates and budget tracking Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and documentation Project CloseoutAssist with punch list coordination and project closeout documentation Ensure all required closeout materials are received, including warranties, as-builts, and final reports Qualifications0–3 years of experience in construction, development, or project coordination Basic understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project delivery methods Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management software is a plus Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Core CompetenciesAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong follow-through and accountability Growth OpportunityThis role is designed as a developmental position with a clear path toward Project Manager responsibilities, including increased ownership of project execution, client interaction, and financial oversight.
