Facilitates annual review process for all direct reports.Experience - Field - Required/Preferred3-5 yrs - Production - Construction General - RequiredEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssures accountability of tools and light equipment (generators, floor saws, epoxy pumps, swing scaffold motors, etc.) in the performance of job duties. Assures that tools are cleaned and stored in a secure and appropriate place upon completion of work shift (locks tools in gang box, chain, and lock up generators, cover swing scaffold motors, and tie down platforms, etc.).Assures crew reports to work on time and at proper locations. Notifies supervisor of crew status before start of shift.Assures safe operation of heavy equipment and vehicles (skid steer loaders, forklifts, power buggles, truck, etc.) and in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, both on and off jobsite. Assures that equipment is cleaned and parked in an appropriate place.Communicates professionally and knowledgably to customer/client when required.Demonstrates how to perform a known task or skill to crew and assists in training Tech 1, 2, and 3 employees.Determines and checks amounts of materials required to complete a task, such as cubic yards of concrete, gallons of coatings, length of high-rise motor cable, etc. Reports shortages of materials to supervisor so that no downtime is incurred.Measures accurately the work completed daily, reports in detail, repair and protection quantities and other items as required by supervisor.Performs and assures the proficient operation of hand-held, electric, and hydraulic powered and non-powered tools and more complex equipment that is required by Tech 1, 2 and 3.Performs and assures that routine maintenance, cleaning and repair to vehicles and equipment is completed. Reports to supervisor, mechanic, or shop person major repairs that are required to tools, minor and major equipment in a manner that will assure that no down time is incurred.Reports to supervisor clearly, accurately and in detail the daily activities of the crew supervised both verbally and in writing on the required paper work (daily field report, diary, job log, etc.)Supervises a minimum of a two-man crew and proficiently performs the basic labor and skilled tasks of a Tech 1, 2, and 3Mixes cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine. Builds wooden forms, and clamps forms around area to be repaired, using hand tools. Positions forms for pouring concrete, and dismantles forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Places, consolidates, and protects concrete or masonry structures. Wets surface to prepare for bonding. Fills holes and cracks with grout or slurry. Spreads, levels and smoothes concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. Cleans, coats, seals, waterproofs or restores concrete surfaces, using appropriate compounds. Chips, scrapes, grinds, sands, or polishes spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools. Installs anchor bolts, steel plates, doorsills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete or pattern or stamps the surface to provide a decorative finish. Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge. Erects and disassembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic, barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.Performs routine maintenance and cleaning to vehicles and equipment such as engine oil filter change, cleaning of mortar mixers and shovels, installs plug ends on power cords, etc. Lubricates, cleans and repairs machinery, equipment and tools. Accounts for all tools and light equipment (generators, floor saws, epoxy pumps, swing scaffold motors, etc.) in the performance of job duties.Cleans tools and stores them in secure and appropriate place upon completion of work shift (locks tools in gang box, chains and locks up generators, covers swing scaffold motors and ties down platforms).Identifies, packs, and transports hazardous materials. Operates, reads, and maintains air monitoring and other sampling devices in confined and/or hazardous environments. Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities. Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery and tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Controls traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
