Position SummaryThe Accountant supports the Financial Controller by managing key accounting and financial reporting functions for the U.S. entity, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently within established guidance. This role partners closely with the Controller to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across local, group, and global structures within a regulated defense manufacturing environment.This position is hands-on and primarily responsible for preparing components of the monthly close process, including supporting schedules and reporting packages. The role also assists with audit and regulatory compliance requirements and contributes to maintaining and strengthening internal controls. In addition, the position supports financial analysis, budgeting, and cost performance monitoring, providing reliable data and insights while operating as a strong individual contributorReporting StructureReports to: Financial ControllerCore Responsibilities1. Financial Close & Accounting OperationsSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsMaintain general ledger accuracy and integrityOversee all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activitiesSupport inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environmentSupport compliance with U.S. GAAP and alignment with IFRS reporting requirementsStrengthen and maintain internal controls in accordance with group and regulatory standards2. Global & Group ReportingSupport preparation and submission of monthly financial reporting packages to Group and Global FinanceSupport implementation of reporting through Visual ERP and Tagetik consolidation systemReconcile intercompany transactionsProvide variance analysis and detailed commentary for group-level reviewSupport quarterly reforecast and annual budget submissionsAssist with consolidation requirements and global reporting deadlines3. Audit & Regulatory ComplianceSupport coordination of external financial statement auditsSupport government and defense-related audit requirementsPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentationAssist with state and federal reporting obligations4. Financial Analysis & Business SupportSupport product cost analysis and margin performance monitoringAssist in working capital and cash flow analysisSupport the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processesProvide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision-making5. Systems & Process ImprovementSupport financial systems resource for Visual ERP and TagetikSupport by identifying and implementation of process improvements to enhance reporting efficiencySupport system upgrades and reporting enhancementsQualificationsBachelors degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA strongly preferred610 years of progressive accounting experienceManufacturing experience requiredExperience in international reporting environments is preferred.Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS requiredExperience with ERP systems required; Visual and/or Tagetik experience a plus.Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong technical accounting and financial reporting expertiseAbility to manage multiple reporting calendars and tight deadlinesHigh attention to detail and strong analytical capabilityEffective communicatorHands-on, solutions-oriented mindsetAbility to operate both strategically and tacticallyPI8793d34914c1-26289-40233501
