GH Engage is partnered with a leading and dynamic MEP and Structural engineering design and consulting firm specializing in ultra-high-end residential projects along the East Coast- They are seeking an Mechanical Project manager or MEP Project managerBased in New Jersey they have identified the South Florida Market as a key area for growth, with a large number of long term projects in their early stages.In collaboration with top-tier architects and design teams, they are at the forefront of delivering custom home designs that meet demanding performance, aesthetic, and acoustic standards.This is a remote opportunity for a 20-person firm in a growth phase — professional and collaborative, but still casual and close-knit and they are seeking a mechanical engineering project manager.This position sits directly alongside a talented licenced Senior Mechanical engineer, working and acting as a key person on projects, playing a key role in both technical delivery and the development of the firm’s regional presencePosition OverviewThey are looking for a proactive and highly organized Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to take ownership of project organization and execution across their growing Florida portfolio.This is a crucial new position for the company as they grow in Florida, and the right candidate will not only manage projects but also help define how project management operates— central to building the systems, tools, and rhythms that will guide them forward.You’ll get to understand current engineering workflow, implement structure where needed, and manage active projects from kick off to completion. In no time at all, you’ll take a leading role in proposal development, resource planning, and overall project delivery.Role Background This person is a future leader as part of a small Florida based project team on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, in support of Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) systems for projects within the ultra luxury residential market but experience on multiple facility types including but not limited to healthcare; higher education; institutional facilities; federal, state and local government; K-12 education and other commercial/industrial facilities sets you up well.This person will serve as key member of the Florida based team assisting with and ultimately serving as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for projects, producing design/construction drawings and specifications working under the Engineer of Record for the work they performActs as the Client interface for projects you lead.Undertakes and directs evaluations of mechanical equipment/systems and prepares design computations and assessments.Generates and oversees mechanical design/construction drawings utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD software.Observes mechanical construction progress and generates field observation reports.Assesses the condition of mechanical systems within existing facilities.Responsible for completion of mechanical design tasks within budget and on schedule.Assists in the development mechanical design best practices.Communicates and coordinates the design, writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as representatives of the Client’s organization to complete work efficiently.Rough Qualification outlineBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering with mechanical focus, from an ABET-accredited university.5-15 years of documented applicable experienceRegistered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, or EIT with track for PEResides in Florida with ability to work remotely, within a rough radius of Miami to Palm BeachSignificant experience using Autodesk REVIT gained in a similar design-related field. Experience with AutoCAD is also required.Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as Bluebeam.Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systemsConduct on-site surveys to document existing conditions.Develop load calculations, system layouts, equipment selections, riser diagrams, and detailed drawings.Prepare reports, specifications, and design narratives.Coordinate designs with architects and consultants to ensure integrated solutions.Review submittals, evaluate field installations, and participate in site observations.
