Company: VMRD, Inc., Pullman, WAJob Title: Accounting AssistantType: FT, Non-ExemptDepartment: Finance Job Summary:The Accounting Assistant, under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining AR/AP, payroll, credit card, sales tax and other finance-related activities as assigned to support the Finance Director to maintain daily, weekly, and month-end financial activities. The Accounting Assistant will have broad responsibilities and be required to complete tasks in a timely manner. Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess AR and AP daily, including research necessarily to properly code/process transactionsReview payroll transactions for accuracy, working with employees and supervisors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of entriesCommunicate with customers on past due invoicesReview sales tax transactions for accuracy and ensure filings with the state agencies are correctPost inventory transactions in the accounting systemPrepare and complete reconciliations of multiple financial accountsMaintain all appropriate records and file systemsOther duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of coworkersFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and WordComputerized accounting system experienceBasic understanding of accounting conceptsExperience in handling confidential information in a work environment Desired Qualifications and Experience:2+ years bookkeeping experience1+ years payroll experienceExperience with NetSuite or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Education, Licenses and Certifications:High school degree or equivalent years of experience and training Physical Requirements for the Job: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Salary Range: $20.00 - 24.00 per hourOur salary ranges are benchmarked for the eastern Washington region and similar positions.
