This is a senior individual contributor role focused on building and owning complex backend services, with Python as the core language, and playing a key role in bringing LLM‐powered functionality into production.This position is highly hands‐on and ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, making architectural decisions, and setting a high bar for engineering quality.Take end‐to‐end ownership of complex backend services written in PythonDesign and build scalable, production‐ready systems with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainabilityIntegrate LLMs into backend services and products using APIsContribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practicesWrite and maintain automated tests across unit, integration, and API layersCollaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and senior technical leaders within an agile Scrum teamWhat skills and experience do I need to succeed?Required5-8+ years of professional software engineering experienceDeep, hands‐on Python experience in production environmentsStrong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, clean architecture, testing, and design patternsExposure to AI / LLMs, including:Using LLMs in development workflowsIntegrating LLMs into backend services or products* Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently* Excellent written and verbal communication skillsNice to HaveBackground in fintech, financial services, reporting, or other data‐intensive systemsExperience working in mixed technology stacks (Python alongside .NET and/or JavaScript)Familiarity with LLM evaluation, guardrails, latency optimization, and cost managementExperience running Python services in Azure or other cloud platformsConfluence offers the chance to work on a well‐funded, high‐impact AI product already used by real customers, with meaningful exposure to senior technical leadership, including the CTO.
