Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Director of Gateway Products to lead the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of gateway solutions within a complex telecommunications environment. This role is responsible for transforming gateway systems into standardized, scalable, and globally deployable products with clearly defined configurations and performance expectations.The Director will ensure that gateway offerings are designed for repeatability, operational efficiency, and seamless integration into broader network architectures.Key Responsibilities:Define and manage gateway product offerings, including standardized configurations and scalable product tiersDevelop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with operational scalability and service delivery objectivesEstablish and oversee acceptance criteria, testing standards, and validation processes for gateway deploymentsBuild and implement automated testing and validation workflows to improve efficiency and consistencyOwn and maintain standardized configurations to ensure compatibility across diverse deployment environmentsEnsure gateway solutions align with overall network architecture and integration requirementsDefine deployment procedures, upgrade paths, and lifecycle management processesEnable operational teams with clear guidance for deployment, maintenance, and supportCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and delivery teams to ensure product readinessDrive continuous improvement in product design, scalability, and operational performanceQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, or a related technical fieldMaster’s degree in Engineering Management or an advanced technical discipline preferredExperience:Minimum of 15+ years of experience in telecommunications, satellite communications, wireless networks, or similar technical domainsAt least 5+ years managing highly technical teams or product-focused engineering organizationsPreferred Qualifications:Experience managing product lifecycles for complex hardware/software systemsStrong understanding of network infrastructure and system integration principlesExperience developing standardized, scalable product offerings in technical environmentsFamiliarity with acceptance testing, automation, and deployment strategiesProven ability to drive productization of previously customized solutionsSoft Skills:Strong leadership and strategic thinking skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teamsStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality across product offeringsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environmentTechnology Stack:Telecommunications systems including access networks and core infrastructureKnowledge of network architecture, system integration, and deployment modelsExperience with automated testing tools and validation frameworksFamiliarity with hardware/software integration and lifecycle management toolsSystems used for monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimizationGeneral understanding of distributed infrastructure and scalable systemsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periodsAbility to interface with hardware systems or lab environments when requiredCapability to participate in virtual and in-person meetingsWill require extensive travel based on business needsThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
