Role: IoT Architect – L3 (Support)Hybrid – Houston, TX Job Type: Contract Role Summary: Senior technical authority responsible for architecture, design, cross-functional alignment, and escalation ownership for complex IIoT/MES environments.Key Responsibilities:Act as the Incident Owner for all escalated infrastructure issuesConnect and integrate industrial devices, machines, and equipment with MES to enable real-time data collection and analysisAnalyze current manufacturing processes and systems to identify areas for improvementCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, IT) to ensure MES solutions align with organizational goals and objectivesDesign and oversee IT-OT integration strategies using industrial connectors such as Kepware and IgnitionDrive automation initiatives — enabling manual machines and processes using PLCs and controllers to transmit data to IIoT applicationsTechnical Skills Required:Extensive experience in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and OPC UA systemsIndustrial protocols: IEC60870-5-101/104, DNP3, MODBUS, OPC standardsDeep expertise in IIoT platforms for monitoring, productivity, anomaly detection, and utilization trackingStrong network architecture knowledge — DNS, DHCP, Firewall, Gateways, Routers, MQTT, CoAP, AMQPExpertise in PLC, SCADA, HMI programming and architecture-level designExperience: 8–10 years in Operations Technology, with exposure to IT/digital transformation projects; international environment experience advantageous
