DepartmentLegalJob DescriptionAs the Legal and Compliance Specialist you will serve as a hybrid paralegal and regulatory compliance specialist, supporting legal operations and compliance operations for an insurance services provider. The position is responsible for managing subpoena requests, maintaining licensing compliance, and supporting legal and compliance team infrastructure through docketing, issue tracking, and document management. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.Work ArrangementEmployees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in-office schedule. The initial training period may require additional in‑office days.AccountabilitiesParalegal & Legal Operations SupportOwn the intake, logging, tracking, and response coordination for subpoenas and other legal requestsPerform docketing and calendar management for legal and regulatory deadlinesAdminister legal hols, including issuing legal hold notices, tracking acknowledgments, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure preservation of relevant documents and dataSupport legal team members with document preparation and matter trackingMaintain organized and auditable records of legal and regulatory mattersLicensing & Regulatory ComplianceTrack and maintain corporate entity licenses, registrations, and appointments across jurisdictionsManage individual producer and adjuster licensing for clientsCoordinate with third-party licensing vendors and monitor performance against service expectationsMaintain visibility into upcoming renewal deadlines and ensure timely filingsDocument & Knowledge ManagementOversee and maintain the legal/compliance SharePoint site and document repositoriesEnsure documents are properly stored, version-controlled, and accessibleContinuously improve document management processes and organizationDocketing, Issue Tracking & Administrative SupportMaintain and update compliance calendars and legal tracking systemsTrack open issues and requestsProvide general administrative and operational support to the legal/compliance teamIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve tracking/reportingQualifications2+ years of experience in a paralegal, legal operations, compliance, or regulatory roleExperience in insurance or financial services strongly preferredFamiliarity with subpoena processing, licensing, or regulatory filings is highly desirableStrong organizational, time management, and multitasking skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyProficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems (e.g., SharePoint)Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external counsel, and regulatorsWork Environment & RequirementsRegular use of a computer and standard office equipmentFrequent written and verbal communicationAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPay RangeAnticipated Hiring Range:$57,000 - $85,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location BenefitsWe are proud to offer our full-time regular employees a robust benefits suite that includes:Competitive base salary plus incentive plans for eligible team members401(K) retirement plan that includes a company match of up to 6% of your eligible salaryFree basic life and AD&D, long-term disability and short-term disability insuranceMedical, dental and vision plans to meet your unique healthcare needsWellness incentivesGenerous time off program that includes personal, holiday and volunteer paid time offFlexible work schedules and hybrid/remote options for eligible positionsEducational assistanceEqual Opportunity EmployerThe Mutual Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
