Utilities Project Manager

Lead Major Power Generation Projects and Drive Operational Success Are you a Mechanical Engineer who has transitioned into Project Management and thrives on managing large-scale capital projects? We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex power generation projects from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and customer delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple large-scale power generation and boiler projects from concept through completion. Oversee project budgets, schedules, scope, risk management, and resource planning. Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and third-party contractors. Serve as the primary customer contact for technical, commercial, and project-related matters. Monitor project performance, financial metrics, and forecasting to ensure profitability and on-time delivery. Develop project schedules, manage critical paths, and resolve project challenges proactively. Prepare progress reports, executive presentations, and customer updates. Negotiate scope changes, contract modifications, and supplemental work opportunities. Ensure quality, safety, and contractual compliance throughout project execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related field. 5+ years of project management experience within engineering, construction, energy, or industrial environments. Strong financial project management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and schedule management. Experience managing large capital boiler projects, utility projects, or power generation systems. Excellent customer relationship, negotiation, and leadership skills. PMP and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred. Power generation industry experience strongly preferred. Must be able to work onsite in Massachusetts.
