Bank Collections Manager

OverviewOur client, a regional bank in New England, is hiring a Collections Manager to manage problem commercial and consumer loans and drive recoveries. This role focuses on workouts, restructurings, and collections across a mixed portfolio. This role will also be overseeing the team on the day to day and preparing regular reports on the delinquent loans.ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of criticized/classified commercial loansLead the collections team.Prepare regular reports on the portfolio.Develop and execute workout and recovery strategies (restructures, forbearance, liquidation)Analyze borrower financials, guarantor strength, and collateralNegotiate with borrowers, attorneys, and other stakeholdersTrack performance, update risk ratings, and maintain accurate reportingPartner with credit, lending, and legal teamsPrepare credit memos and portfolio updates for managementRequirements5+ years in commercial banking, with experience in special assets, workouts, or creditSupervisory experienceStrong understanding of commercial loan structures, documentation, and collateralSolid financial analysis and problem-solving skillsExperience handling difficult borrower situations and negotiationsClear written and verbal communication
