This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work of surveyors and technicians engaged in determining precise locations and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapping, utility location, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), land division, title surveys, and related purposes.The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration; provide technical and managerial leadership; ensure project excellence; and represent the company in meetings with existing and prospective clients. This position plays a key role in both project delivery and business development within the market.Immigration sponsorship or support (including H-1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesPlan, manage, and oversee the operations of multiple survey field crewsAssemble and analyze field data; perform survey calculations; and prepare legal descriptionsEnsure quality control and quality assurance across all survey deliverablesPrepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, schedules, and billingServe as the primary point of contact for client management on assigned projectsSupport and lead business development efforts for the surveying discipline within the marketLead, mentor, and manage team members through continuous performance management, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, and regular one-on-one meetingsPromote and enforce safe work practices for all survey staffRepresent the company professionally in client meetings, conferences, and industry eventsRequired Experience And QualificationsTennessee Professional Registered Land Surveyor (RPLS)Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in surveyingHigh school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)Strong working knowledge of Federal, State, and local surveying regulationsGeneral understanding of survey plan preparation using InRoads/MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3DAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with subsurface utility designating and locating (SUE)Familiarity with aerial mapping, LiDAR scanning, and sUAS (drone) technologiesWorking ConditionsPrimarily office-based (approximately 95%), with sedentary work that may require occasional standing or walkingOffice environment includes adequate lighting, temperature control, and minimal exposure to noise or hazardsOccasional fieldwork required, with exposure to varying outdoor conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and wet or dry environmentsAbility to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
