You’ll be joining a supportive environment known for its work life balance, strong benefits, and commitment to professional development.Join a growing, close knit team within a well established residential property insurance organization.What You Will Be DoingSupport statutory accounting for multiple insurance carriers, including month end journal entries (gross and net of reinsurance) using NetSuiteMaintain balance sheet account reconciliationsPrepare statutory (yellow book) financial reportsRecord Accounts Payable and ensure all regulatory reporting and payment deadlines are metRecord STAT to GAAP conversion entriesAssist with internal and external audit requestsPrepare billings to reinsurersProvide technical guidance to senior leadersPerform financial analytics to explain fluctuations and uncover insightsIdentify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiencyActively communicate with reinsurers, auditors, and external partners with professionalism and accuracyServe as an active team member, assisting and reviewing work of staff accountants as neededCross train team members and support knowledge sharingParticipate in special projects, including automation and streamlining initiatives within accounting and financeContribute to organizational success through ongoing learning and developmentWhat You BringCPA requiredIdeal background: external audit experience from Big 4 or regional firm, or a mix of public/privateStrong statutory & GAAP accounting knowledge requiredSomeone who enjoys working cross functionally, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative teamCandidates needing a delayed start date due to busy season are welcome to discuss timingExperience with NetSuite a plusStrong communication skillsProcess improvement mindset
