Restaurant General Manager
Mont Du Lac Resort, an established family-run year-round resort dedicated to endless family fun, is seeking a Restaurant General Manager. Our resort has year-round lodging with multiple bar & restaurants, in the summer we have activities from our waterpark, marina, disc golf, mountain biking, in the winter we have the ski hill and tubing. Located in Superior, WI but only 15 minutes from Duluth, MN.
Job Summary
Overview
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the operations of all restaurants on property. Supervises and controls all activities and staff in accordance with established resort standards, policies, and procedures. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates team members and resources of the restaurant in the best interests of the resort to provide efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of food, beverages, events, and ensures the comfort of guests while maintaining a positive reputation of the establishment. Responsible for maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, consistency, health, and safety. Additionally, the Restaurant General Manager should be able to perform all positions within the restaurant.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
*Coordinates the entire operations of the restaurant and bar areas and helps in any area of operations as circumstances dictate. *Responds to and resolves customer concerns and complaints. Corrects potential problems before they affect customers. *Maintains highest standards and consistency of quality control, hygiene, health and safety.
Organizes and supervises work schedules, while adjusting as necessary to cover team member call-ins or shortages and adjusts the number of staff on hand as business dictates.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the FOH and BOH.
Maintains all inventory levels, attends to equipment issues and ensures that everything is in place for smooth operations.
Responsible for gathering and preparing all food and beverage orders. Additionally, reviewing food and beverage costs weekly.
Completes daily office duties before business hours/during down time.
Conducts all staff and one-on-ones with each staff member on a regular basis.
Communicates with the Operations Manager to make sure that each piece of customer facing material is in good working order.
Ensures that all team members adhere to all resort policies and procedures uniformly and without exception, such as uniform standards, attendance and reconciling financial transactions.
Arranges for weekly maintenance and repairs with the maintenance team.
Exemplifies professionalism. Upholds the highest level of professionalism by avoiding close/personal relationships with staff.
Regularly audits staff members sales closeouts to avoid any theft or misuse of discounts.
Works with accounting department in the case of bartender/server tills are off.
Regularly maintains a zero free cocktail environment.
Reads industry materials for unique products and offerings-stays in front of competition by knowing what is happening within our community.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
*Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment. *A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff. *Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. *Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary. *Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed. *Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
Qualifications
*2 years minimum of general manager experience *5 years minimum of restaurant experience *Bartender License in Wisconsin, or able to complete *ServSafe Certificate, or able to complete *Must be at least 21 years old. *High School graduate or equivalent.
Salaried Position - $60,000 - $70,000, based on qualifications.
