Security Systems Specialist

Job Overview: The Security Systems Specialist is a senior-level technical role responsible for the design, programming, deployment, and optimization of complex enterprise security systems. This position serves as a subject matter expert for access control, video surveillance, networking, and integrated security platforms. In this role, you will lead high-level technical initiatives, support system commissioning, mentor team members, and ensure that CTCI delivers secure, reliable, and well-engineered solutions for our clients. You are both a technical expert and a trusted advisor who embodies CTCI’s mission to bring technology and construction together so systems perform Responsibilities: Custom Systems Programming and Management Develop and implement custom programming for security platforms to meet project and client requirements Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and expansions Conduct technical system audits and provide consultative recommendations Manage and maintain databases related to access control and video management systems Ensure proper documentation and configuration control across all systems Security Systems Configuration and Support Configure, commission, and support a wide range of security systems and equipment Ensure systems operate efficiently and meet client performance expectations Provide advanced troubleshooting for access control, video, and integrated technologies Collaborate with project managers and field technicians to deliver successful project outcomes Database Preparation and Programming Prepare and configure databases for enterprise-level systems Perform job-related programming tasks for computer-based security platforms Validate system integrity and accuracy prior to client turnover System Operations and Commissioning Operate and test systems to demonstrate functionality Commission new installations and verify system performance Analyze system behavior and diagnose malfunctions Lead system acceptance testing and client demonstrations Technical Support and Mentorship Act as a technical mentor to Security Service Specialists and project teams Provide escalation support for complex service issues Assist colleagues across offices with technical guidance and best practices Support sales and project teams with technical consultation for new opportunities and system add-ons Network Expertise Serve as the department’s subject matter expert in network architecture, organization, and deployment Design, implement, and support secure network environments for security systems Troubleshoot and repair existing network infrastructure Develop standards and best practices to improve future deployments Vendor Certifications and Professional Development Obtain and maintain required vendor and manufacturer certifications Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity practices, and industry trends Represent CTCI as a highly skilled and certified technical resource Special Projects Support Assist with proposal preparation, system design input, and technical scoping Support the Special Projects team with advanced technical requirements as needed
