Job DescriptionCranemasters is seeking a detail-oriented Hybrid - Payroll & HR Specialist to help drive key HR functions while also supporting the payroll manager. This hybrid role will spend time in payroll to ensure accuracy as needed, supports employee lifecycle processes, and maintain compliance in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities – PayrollProcess multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees (UKG)Ensure accuracy of taxes, benefits, and deductionsMaintain payroll records and complete reconciliationsGenerate reports and ensure regulatory complianceAct as backup to the Payroll ManagerKey Responsibilities – Human ResourcesSupport onboarding (background checks, E-Verify, benefits setup, employee files)Assist with recruiting, job postings, and interview coordinationCoordinate training and maintain driver qualification recordsSupport benefits administration and annual enrollmentAssist with compliance reporting and HR metricsProvide general HR administrative supportSkills/Qualifications2–5+ years of payroll and/or HR experienceKnowledge of payroll processes, multi-state taxes, and labor lawsStrong Excel and HRIS/payroll system experience (UKG, ADP, preferred)Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain strict confidentialityAssociate degree or equivalent experience preferredWork Environment & RequirementsOffice-based with occasional travel to job sites or meetingsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesLight physical activity (lifting up to 20 lbs, filing, walking)Why join Cranemasters?Cranemasters is a leading provider of emergency railroad services operating 24/7 across the country.
