Job DescriptionPerforms advanced (senior level) computer programming in an IMS/application mainframe environment. Work involves overseeing programming projects, analyzing proposed applications, and designing software solutions. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Knowledge of modern programming languages is required to ‘translate’ how the batch code will be redefined in the new language. Ability to present findings of research in business terms clearly so requirements can be created Ability to diagram flow for the batch programs to enhance understanding of the overall process Hierarchal and Relational database knowledge required Ability to read schedules in JobTrack Ability to document those schedules by program groupings Candidate Skills And QualificationsRequired Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience5+ years Required Detailed knowledge of developing and maintaining IMS/application mainframe applications5+ years Required CICS/BMS experience5+ years Required experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, REXX, ISPF, File-Aid or a similar product5+ years Preferred Hands-on experience with Mark IV5+ years Preferred ISPF and other IBM utilities experience5+ years Preferred Experience with File Aid3+ years Preferred Experience with Expediter3+ years Preferred Experience with JCL3+ years Preferred IMS and VSAM experience3+ years Preferred Experience reading code, understanding business rules, and modifying programs based on user requirements#DICE
