Jesuit Volunteer - Education & Youth
We are particularly seeking JVs to serve with the St. Labre schools, Indigenous-led schools in Montana (in Ashland, Pryor, and St. Xavier). JVs gain cross-cultural, immersive experience, learn from the seasoned teachers, and are embraced by a community that makes them feel at home. The mission of St. Labre is to provide quality education which celebrates our Catholic faith and embraces Native American cultures, primarily the Northern Cheyenne and Crow tribes, so that Native American individuals and communities of Southeastern Montana are empowered to attain self-sufficiency. St. Labre Schools have a 93.8% graduation rate, compared to 84% across the state of Montana and 66.2% for Native American student in Montana. This is a year of service program, so compensation differs from a typical job. All JVs receive food and housing, basic medical insurance and additional health costs, commuter expenses (e.g., bike, bus pass), and a monthly stipend of $100. Distinct from an entry-level job, our program also provides the opportunity to live in community, reflect on your purpose through retreats, and in locale support. Our service year runs from August 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027. Many Jesuit Volunteer positions with JVC Northwest are also AmeriCorps-eligible positions. AmeriCorps Members receive an education award of more than $7000+ towards student loans or future tuition upon completion of their service term - pending disbursement of AmeriCorps funds. Many roles do not require any previous experience or particular majors; other roles may require relevant work or educational experience. Learn more about the JV experience at jvcnorthwest.org or on our Instagram @jvcnorthwest. When you apply, you will first apply to the program generally and then you will enter an interview process where we learn about your strengths and interests. With more than 100 positions available each year across 5 states, we get to know you and match you with an agency in a particular locale. A Jesuit Volunteer year is a unique opportunity to gain skills, explore your purpose, take a year before more education, or kick start a future career. Admission is rolling--the sooner you apply, the more roles are available! Start your application here. Final deadline to apply for the '26-27 Service Year is May 26, 2026.
